We typically charge by the hour. However, there are also other costs including database research, records retrieval, surveillance, travel expenses, report preparation, and, if needed, court testimony. Call us and we can give you a better idea of what your case might involve.

A retainer helps you manage your costs. Our retainer amount is determined by what services you’ll need, where the location is, and the complexity of the case. There may be an additional cost for dangerous situations.

We have offices in San Francisco, Houston, and Daytona Beach and can easily cover your case near those areas including northern California, east Texas, and central Florida. But, sometimes a case goes beyond those areas. Our investigators will go wherever you need us to help your case.

Tony Vain Investigations accepts cash, credit/debit cards, wire transfer, and cashier’s check. You can pay our retainer online with a credit or debit card on our website. If you are concerned about your spouse seeing the transaction please call us so we can handle the payment discretely.

Great question. Before hiring any private investigator you should go to the licensing website for that state to verify that they are licensed in the state where your case in being worked. We are Licensed Private Investigators in California, Texas, and Florida. We are also members of the professional association of private investigators in all three states and are a member of the World Detectives Association. We can get into some government databases which allow licensed private investigators access. However, we use proprietary information databases that are not available to the general public to do witness locates, and find former spouses, missing relatives, and even former employees.
Yes, you are our client, so we do not disclose any information about you or your case except in two very specific circumstances. One is to your lawyer if you authorize us to discuss your case with them. The other is if we are required by law or a court order to disclose your information.
We understand the need for discretion. Before we actually follow your spouse we use electronic records searches and dissect their social media accounts to document their patterns and behavior.
